Fattitudes Movie Screening, Meet the Directors, & Benefit for Girls Rock!
One Night Only! May 8th, A SHAPE Feature Event!
Fattitude examines how popular culture perpetuates the fat hatred and fat-shaming that results in a very real cultural bias and a civil rights issue for people who are living in fat bodies. Fattitude is very conscious and attentive to the idea that fat hatred crosses the lines of race, class, sexuality and gender... Ultimately, Fattitude’s goal is to change the national conversation about body image so that it focuses not only on issues of self-acceptance, but also on legitimate questions of systemic cultural prejudice.

SHAPE Yoga Workshop: Setting New Years Intentions
Are you tired of setting resolutions that have failed every single year? Do you just want to have a year of being kind to your body, mind, and/or soul? Setting intentions just might be what you are looking for.
This 2-hour workshop allows 15 participants to learn how to create New Years intentions that are designed to enhance one's life. This inspirational two-part workshop will provide participants the tools for setting positive intentions, tips and resources to address potential detours and obstacles, and a Yoga & guided meditation experience to plant the intentions at the deepest level. Each person is invited to create brand new intentions or explore the roots of their traditional New Years "resolution" as a pathway to finding their true intention. This workshop will take place in a private but casual setting in Pawtucket, RI., and is presented by Yogi Janie Ganga and SHAPE Center's founder Krista Handfield, MSW, LCSW. Both Janie and Krista are Health at Every Size® practitioners.
All SHAPE events are rooted in radically-inclusive, size-affirmative, body-positive, and non-dieting perspectives. But don't worry -- if you're working with a wellness goal or resolution that involves changing your body or shifting your eating -- bring it! This workshop and the Health at Every Size perspective supports you and your personal process. Everything is in!
